Writer. Director. Producer.

Margo E. Sawaya is a filmmaker of Lebanese and Italian decent, born and raised in Michigan, and now based in Los Angeles, California. She has three brothers, an obsession with live music, and a love for writing in its various forms. Passion guides her through her life, from cooking and music to filmmaking and beyond.

While earning her MFA in Film & TV Production at USC School of Cinematic Arts, she learned that she is drawn to concepts that deal with the human condition, mental health advocacy, social constructs and the intersection of cultures. Her recent projects include a high school drama called Tuesday, a virtual production based R&D short called Ripple Effect, and a rock music video called Daddy.

With the completion of Ripple Effect, she won the Innovative Technology Award in 2020 through the Entertainment Technology Center @ USC. As her portfolio continues to grow, she strives to tell stories that break barriers. She pushes her audience to reflect on, as opposed to just consume, the abundance of content that is now more accessible than ever.
